Star Trek: The Experience - Back From the Dead
Greetings!
Some time ago I wrote of the demise of the Las Vegas Hilton’s Star Trek: The Experience. It would seem that the ever-debaucherous Hilton chain cannot stop the attraction, as it’s currently set to beam stright into Vega’s Downtown district.
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman “Practically beamed” as he delivered the news, announcing that a local businessman (Rohit Joshi) was deep in talks with CBS licensing regarding the attraction. With it’s course layed in for Downtown’s Neonopolis, a neon-themed shopping mall thats part of the “Freemont Experience,” inside sources have revealed that the licensing agreement covers both the rides, museum, and Quark’s Bar and Restauraunt.
Materials are already being moved to Freemont, and it is believed that most of the cast and crew will be ofered their old jobs back. Chad Boutte, former operations manager, has anounced that he will not be returning to the new attraction - he is resettling out of town.
Insiders report that current plans are to launch first the Bar, restaurant, and wedding-bridge will be reassembled (as close to original as possible), with the rides soon to follow. Many of the former employees I spoke to have great interest in retruning to the new attraction - ranging from actors to retail staff.
No updates will occur initially, but the plans are to at least have some of it open by the new movie’s release date. Future updates to the somewhat-aged attraction are on the table.
More news to come later on the status of the Hilton’s Experience disassembly.
